Supervision and Coordination Central Union of Rural and Agricultural Cooperatives of Iran (SCURA) is an apex and nongovernmental organization consisted of national cooperative unions which covers agricultural producing sector and established in May 2009 in accordance to national cooperative law (1971). This apex organization has come to existence in order to make rural and agricultural cooperatives more lawfulness, active and economic. In addition, another goal was to become a member of International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) and try to consult and mobilize national cooperatives with international cooperatives which occurred in March 2010 and SCURA is an active member of ICA at the moment. SCURA's main responsibilities: Participating at committees, commissions and policy making centers and deciding about agricultural issues and related tariffs Supervision on cooperatives and unions to coordinate and close cooperation. Extension and Education to improve job & technical skills of cooperatives and unions in agriculture, trade and commerce sector. Auditing rural and agricultural cooperatives and unions. Judging and solving problem amongst cooperatives and unions and defending their rights. Absorbing investment for national and international agricultural projects.
